India is known since ancient times for its artistry and skill. Yet, no matter how talented an artisan may be, exceptional work requires quality materials. As a craftsman himself, our founder Kalabhai Karson Nandwana understood this need all too well.
At a time when there were no defined standards for plasters in India, we broke the mould by focusing on quality.
By making quality plasters for interiors, ceramics, orthopaedics and dentistry, we have built ceilings and floors, healed broken bones and restored smiles since 1918.

Humble Beginnings,

At the dawn of the 20th century, Kalabhai Karson Nandwana walks 700km from Gujarat to Bombay, driven by the hope of finding work. While enduring countless hardships, he earns recognition as a master plaster craftsman.
Supported by his illustrious clientele, he establishes Kalabhai Karson & Co. as a specialist fabricator (Mistrys: master craftsman) for decorative plaster work.
In order to guarantee quality work and keep up with the growing demand, Kalabhai starts manufacturing plaster of Paris for its own use.
As the demand for Kalabhai plasters increases, the company acquires industrial land in Vikhroli, Mumbai, and inaugurates its manufacturing works.
In a first for India, Kalabhai begins manufacturing high-strength industrial plasters via in-house research and development.
First Indian company to exhibit at Asian Pacific Dental Congress in Malaysia.
First Indian company to exhibit at the world’s largest dental show, IDS in Cologne, Germany.
First dental plaster manufacturer worldwide to be certified with ISO 14001 (Environmental Management Systems). We have since implemented the guidelines of ISO 14001 into our standard practices.
Kalabhai turns 100 years old.
